How To build a Pizzaoven

So you want to bake great pizza and excellent bread at home?

Let’s build our own wood fired oven!

What you need:

  • Beer
  • Patience
  • A patient family

I won’t write a long story, as pictures will tell you more than I can explain . Just look at the pictures and get some ideas. Search the web for other construction plans and pick the stuff you like most.

The material you use depends where you live, what is available there and on the price.

I’m still working to finish the oven and I will update this post while I’m progressing.

 Isolation layer (Vermiculite/Portland cement)

If you use a vermiculite/Portland mix as isolation, apply a layer of fire cement on it before placing the firebricks.

  1. Nice job. It would probably look good with some tiling or mosaic on the outside to finish it off. I’ve made an article with further pizza oven tips if you’re interested.
